Compost Tumblers

Compost Tumblers - compost made easy

Compost tumblers make the process of making compost very quick and easy. A compost tumbler is essentially a drum mounted on a stand with a handle which allows you to turn to drum in the horizontal plane. The compost tumbler has holes at the top where the heat generated in the composting process can escape and holes in the bottom where fresh air can enter.

How to make compost in just 14 days

Day 1: Fill your compost tumbler with grass clippings, leaves and general garden waste. Close the door and give the handle half a dozen turns. That's all there is to it.

Day 2 - day 13 All you have to do is give the tumbler a few turns to make sure that the air circulates. Again, that really is all you have to do.

Day 14 The easiest day! Simply open the door of your compost tumbler and find it full of the sort of perfect compost that could take a year to make the traditional way, and more often than not just wouldn't work at all.

Compost tumblers are sold in a variety of sizes to suit the smallest to the largest garden and come in a variety of colours.
